SueW2Piano has been a passion for Sue Wood for the past 40 years. Her specialty is beginning and intermediate piano instruction in the traditional method. For more experienced musicians, she offers jazz piano, improvisation and theory lessons. Sue also plays the accordion and offers beginning accordion lessons.

Sue’s approach to teaching is largely based on her own experience as a student herself.  She has taken approximately 14 years of lessons in classical and jazz piano, music theory and accordion.  One of her most inspiring teachers was the late Dr. Carl Alexis, a jazz trumpeter and pianist from New Orleans and Ann Arbor, Michigan.

Her performance resume is also quite extensive, playing in a Celtic band, a folk-rock group and jazz ensemble. She is also a frequent piano accompanist.

Since 1983 she has been a certified piano technician, tuning and repairing piano in the Ann-Arbor-Detroit area until moving to Cedar, Michigan, in 2000.
